New Playground!
On Saturday we dedicated our new playground! We cut the ribbon in celebration of our beautiful new space. Karen Cavanagh and John Mason and their crew at Sabre Technology installed new energy producing playground equipment. The merry go round and the gyro spinners operate an alternator and water pump and children can see that their efforts produce energy. The water pump is largely symbolic, and similar to a real pump that will be built in Tanzania to help a school get much needed water in a place where they now need to walk about 2 miles to get water during the day at their school.
Thanks to all the parents, staff and volunteers who made this new space possible.

Progress on the Playground!
Today a tractor trailor of wood fiber was deposited on the playground area. They are making progress! We are also altering some of our interior spaces: adding room to our kitchen, putting a window and cabinetry in the violin room that will eventually become administrative office space, and creating an extra office space with part of the closet in the great room.

Foundation Work
The playground work has begun. We had a meeting on site yesterday to discuss placement of the structures and the time line for construction.
The foundation is also being excavated!

Preparing the Site
We have a building permit and we have started the sitework for the new gym wing. The bulldozers are moving the dirt down the hill to make our new playground more level. It will be a big playground, with room for both older and younger students!
It looks very bare right now, but we will be planting lots of trees.
